Bus Rider Arrested for Recording Upskirt Video: Police

Riverside police arrested a Summit man for recording video under a woman's skirt on a Pace bus.

RIVERSIDE, IL — Riverside police pulled a Summit man off a Pace bus July 20 after several witnesses called 911 to report he recorded video under a woman's skirt.

The 911 callers gave police a description of the man, now identified as Gustavo Vega, 49 of the 7400 block of Selma Avenue in Summit, and police caught up to the Pace bus at Harlem and Ogden, according to Riverside police.

Vega reportedly tried to hide a cell phone he was holding as police boarded the bus. Police learned Vega had used his phone to record video under the skirt of a woman sitting in front of him.

Two witnesses sitting behind Vega saw what he was doing and told him to stop, but the witnesses said Vega ignored them and continued to record video. The woman didn't know she was being recorded until the witnesses tried to stop Vega.

Police confiscated Vega's phone and recovered the video evidence. Vega was charged with unlawful video recording, a Class A misdemeanor.
