Chicagoans Mulling Joining Lyons Township High?
Officials offer reasons for a high number of Chicago users' website visits.
LA GRANGE, IL – Chicago figures in a big way in visits to Lyons Township High School's website.
From August to November, users from both La Grange and Chicago each counted for a quarter of website visits, according to the school's data. Western Springs came in third at 5 percent.
At Monday's school board meeting, member Tim Albores took the Chicago visits as a hopeful sign.

"I thought the Chicago piece was very interesting," Albores said. "I don't want to speculate if we've become a magnet to people living in the city because they're looking to move to the suburbs for a really good school."
Some of the school's communications, he said, may be driving interest in the area, highlighting the "amazing" school.

Member Jill Grech suspected it was for another reason.
"I think it's probably a lot of parents at their offices in the city accessing it, so that's where a lot of that is," she said.
Other members agreed.
