Construction in Lyons on Ogden to Cause Traffic Delays

The first phase of the construction is scheduled to begin Sept. 8 and end by Oct. 31.

Major construction will begin Sept. 8 on Ogden Avenue from Joliet Avenue to Plainfield Road to replace water mains, officials of the Village of Lyons announced.

Ogden Avenue will be reduced from four lanes to one East-bound lane and one West-bound lane between Joliet Avenue and Plainfield Road.

Officials said that the water main work is a part of $5.5 million in planned water main and road improvements for the village that began earlier this year and is expected to continue through the end of 2016.

Water lines, roads and sidewalks have already been replaced on Custer Avenue and Anna Avenue. Phase I is scheduled to be completed by October 31st. Phase II will begin in spring 2016 and is expected to be completed by fall of 2016.
