Longtime La Grange Official Says Why He's Not Running
Trustee says he recruited a candidate who would be voice for flood-prone areas.

LA GRANGE, IL — La Grange Trustee Bill Holder, who has served on the Village Board since 2009, explained why he decided not to run for a fourth term in the April 6 election.
"Like some others, I am a believer in term limits, so I will step aside to allow others to support and guide this great village," the three-term trustee told La Grange Patch in an email.
Holder said he recruited resident Michael Matteucci to fill his seat. Matteucci and two other candidates are running unopposed for three four-year seats on the board. They are endorsed by the Citizens Council of La Grange, a nonpartisan group.

Matteucci, Holder said, is "very sharp, a pragmatist and will be a solid representative for the people that live in the flood-prone areas here on the south side."
Holder said Matteucci lives on the south side and wants to be southside residents' voice in the village government.

"It has been a privilege to serve this home that I love through the various boards and commissions over the years, and I believe it is time to allow others to expand upon that effort," Holder said.
Matteucci is listed as a member of La Grange's Community and Economic Development Commission, according to the village website.
