Party That Shall Not Be Named Offers Magical Day in La Grange

LA GRANGE, IL - As Harry Potter fans around the globe gear up for the release of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" later this month, over 20 La Grange merchants are joining with Anderson's Bookshop for a village-wide launch party of the much-anticipated book.

The Party That Shall Not Be Namedwill take place throughout the day on Saturday, July 30 in conjunction with the book's release at midnight.

Special events and activities themed to the magical world of Harry Potter will be showcased throughout the day from noon to midnight at various locations in La Grange. Both wizards and muggles are invited to participate.

The fun includes a Horcrux Hunt, costume and trivia contests, magical arts & crafts like wand-making workshops, photo opportunities plus magically-themed food and beverage items like butterbeer, adult potions and much more.

Local businesses displaying a lighting bolt will be participating in a Horcrux Hunt. Party-goers can find the hidden horcrux at each participating business to be entered into a special raffle to win a magical prize.

"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" is a play currently slated to begin performances in London on July 31, and Anderson's Bookshop, along with booksellers across the US, is making the script available on that day. Since April, Anderson's has been pre-selling the books for pick-up at midnight. Launch parties will also be held at Anderson's Bookshops in Naperville and Downers Grove on the same day.

Visitors can stroll through La Grange to visit all of the magical merchants: a map of all of the intriguing locations and events will be available soon at participating merchants.
