Storyteller Margaret Burke, president of Illinois Storytelling, Inc. presents stories that celebrate the mature wisdom, ingenuity, humor, and courage of living “the second half”.

Friday, 10/2: Cruise to Austria, Dole Hall 3:00pm Our cruise around the world destination this month is to Austria. Enjoy a travelogue. Residents are welcome share any stories and memorabilia you may have and bring your passport for your stamp. Enjoy a sweet treat from this country.

Salt Creek Model A Club will bring showing some of their vintage Model A cars. Meet the owners and ask them questions about their cars and how they restored them.
Monday, 10/5: Blessing of the Animals with Chaplain Carol Taylor, LL Patio 1:30pm If you’ve ever had a pet, you are familiar with the deep human-animal bond of love. Whether your love is for fur, feather, fin, or shell, gather to celebrate and give thanks for the companionship of pets. Bring your pet or a photo of your pet to receive a blessing.
Monday, 10/5: Butterfly Presentation by Lori Harris, Albert Hall 2:00pm We have Lori Harris coming from the Salt Creek Butterfly Farm to show beautiful pictures of butterflies and talk about their lifecycle.
Tuesday, 10/6: LaGrange Police Safety Program, Dole Hall 3:00pm
Listen to a detective of the LaGrange Park police department discuss new trends in security, scams, identity theft and ways to keep yourself and family safe. The detective will be glad to answer any questions you may have.

Plymouth Place welcomes back the Die Musikmeisters Band playing traditional German

Bill returns with a special look at Austria. “Cradled in the magnificent Alps of Central Europe, Austria is home to charming old world villages where time stands still. Vienna, its capitol has long been a world cultural center. We will explore the grand palaces, and architecturally significant cathedrals and take a break in the local centuries old coffee houses.
