20-Year-Old Wrong Way Driver Killed In Head-On Crash On Route 41
A wrong way driver was killed in a head-on crash on Route 41 in Lake Bluff, according to authorities.

LAKE BLUFF, IL — A 20-year-old wrong way driver and Evanston resident was killed in a head-on crash on Route 41 in Lake Bluff early Sunday morning, according to the Lake County Coroner's Office.
The Lake Bluff Police and Fire Departments responded to the crash at about 4:52 a.m. When authorities arrived, they found two vehicles that had been involved in a crash in the northbound lanes of Route 41 south of Route 176.
According to preliminary investigation results, one of the vehicles was traveling southbound on the wrong side of the expressway. Paramedics declared the driver of that vehicle, identified as
20-year-old Britney Perez, dead at the scene.

"Based on the seriousness of the incident, the Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) of Lake County was requested to assist in the investigation," officials said in a statement.
On Monday, the Coroner's Office conducted an autopsy, which indicated that Perez died from blunt force injuries as a result of the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the Lake Bluff Police Department and MCAT.
