UPDATE: Children Abducted in Waukegan Found Safe; Police Still Looking for Father

The two children were abducted Thursday morning in Waukegan.

The two children who were reportedly abducted this morning have been found and are safe, according to media reports.

The children, a 4-year-old girl and her 3-year-old brother, are currently in custody with DCFS after their aunt dropped them off in Zion, according to NBC Chicago. Their father, who is accused of taking them, is still on the loose, according to NBC Chicago. He is considered armed and dangerous.

An amber alert has been issued for two missing children who were reportedly abducted by their father in Wauegan this morning, according to the Illinois State Police.

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating Dyniste S. Finley, 4, and Dejavante D. FInley, 3, who they say were taken by their father, Dejavante D. Finley, 23, from 15 South County St. in Waukegan at 9:20 a.m. Thursday, according to state police. He is described as being armed and dangerous.

The older sister is described as a black female, 3-feet 6-inches tall and weighing 40 pounds. She was wearing a pink shirt and gold sandals at the time of her disappearance.

The younger brother is described as a black male who is 3-feet tall and 30 pounds. He was wearing a gray shirt, blue shorts and black-and-white shoes, according to state police.

Their father is described as a black male, 5-feet 5-inches tall and weighing 130 pounds. He was wearing a gray shirt and light blue jeans and blue and black tennis shoes. He was last seen driving a 2006 dark blue Chevrolet Malibu with a temporary Wisconsin license plate K7561C.
