Lake Forest woman arrested over battery to police officers; speeding and swerving driver charged with DUI: Lake Forest Police Blotter

LAKE FOREST, IL — The following information comes from Lake Forest and Lake Bluff police and Lake County court records as a record of those arrested by police. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indication of guilt, and criminal charges, which represent merely accusations by the state, are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Circuit Clerk of Courts. All persons named are innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
Christina L. Walsh, 50, of the 1300 block of Oak Knoll Drive, Lake Forest, was arrested around 8:30 p.m. Feb. 9 on her block of residence on an active arrest warrant on two counts of aggravated battery to police stemming from a January incident in which she was alleged to have injured two Lake Forest police officers.

Osman A. Velasquez-Castro, 29, of the 1900 block of North Lewis Avenue, Waukegan, was arrested around 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 10 and charged with assault after police were dispatched to a report of a hit-and-run traffic crash near the intersection of Route 41 and Route 60. Several witnesses told dispatchers they spotted someone get out of a box truck brandishing a baseball bat. Officers investigating the crash spoke to both drivers and independent witnesses prior to taking Velasquez-Castro into custody.
A 35-year-old North Chicago man was arrested around 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 13 and charged with driving without a valid license after he was pulled over for speeding 55 mph in a posted 35 mph zone near Westleigh Road and Route 41.

A 34-year-old North Chicago man was arrested around 2 a.m. on Feb. 14 and charge with driving with a revoked license after he was pulled over for speeding 91 mph on a portion of Route 41 with a 55 mph speed limit. Due to the man's six prior convictions for driving with a suspended or revoked license, he could have been charged with a felony, but police said the Lake County State's Attorney's Office refused to charge him with a felony.
A 22-year-old Waukegan woman was arrested around 6:45 p.m. on Feb. 17 and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop near Green Bay Road and Vine Avenue. She was also charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving with suspended registration and unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver.
A 32-year-old Chicago man was arrested shortly before midnight on Feb. 19 and charged with driving with a suspended license after police pulled him over near Route 41 and Deerpath Road for driving a car without tail lights.
A 25-year-old Waukegan man was arrested shortly after midnight on Feb. 21 and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop for expired plates on Route 41.
Anthony Lampros, 44, of the 1700 block of Westbridge Circle, Lake Forest, was arrested around 8:15 a.m. on Feb. 26 near the intersection of Westleigh and Buena roads and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Officers had been told a Lexus SUV had been spotted swerving and driving in the wrong lane on Sheridan Road headed north from Highwood. Police spotted the Lexus swerving and speeding west on Westleigh Road. After pulling over the driver, officers noted that he smelled of alcohol and appeared intoxicated and took him into custody following field sobriety tests. Lampros was also issued a citation for speeding 70 mph in a 30 mph zone.
A 30-year-old Chicago man was arrested around 5 p.m. on Feb. 26 and charged with driving without a valid license, with suspended registration and without insurance following a traffic stop near Route 41 and Gage Lane.
