Blown Stop Sign Leads to DUI Arrest

A 20-year-old was also arrested when police say he gave them a fake ID.

The following information is from the Lake Forest Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

DUI

Ernesto B. Dearmas, 24, of Kenosha, WI, was stopped by an officer at McKinley and Deerpath roads at 11 p.m. April 17 for disobeying a stop sign. The officer smelled alcohol and cannabis and police said Dearmas admitted to drinking and smoking cannabis before the stop. He also turned over drug paraphernalia he had with him. He failed a field sobriety test, police said, and was charged with DUI of alcohol and drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and disobeying a stop sign. He was released on $3,000 bond and given a May 13 court date.

Martinez, 32, of Sheboygan, WI, was stopped April 10 at 11 p.m. at Route 60 and Suffolk by an officer after the officer spotted the black pickup truck he was driving that had been taken earlier that day from Sheboygan without the owner’s consent.
