Brass Knuckles, Pot Found During Traffic Arrest

Several people were also charged with driving while their licenses were suspended.

Unlawful possession of a weapon

An officer stopped a car for not having a license plate at 3 a.m. April 26 at Route 41 and Deerpath in which Gabriel Santoyo, 21, and Jose Lupian-Gonzalez, 21, both of Waukegan, were passengers. Santoyo was taken into custody when an officer discovered he was carrying brass knuckles. He was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and released on $1,500 bond with a May 13 court date. Lupian-Gonzalez was taken into custody when an officer found that he had cannabis on him. He was charged with illegal control of cannabis, released on $120 bond and given a May 20 court date.

William A. Haberland, 54, of Lake Forest, was arrested by officers on a Department of Corrections warrant for a parole violation May 2.

Julio A. Ayala, 33, of Waukegan was stopped for a registration violation at 5 p.m. April 26 at Route 41 and Gage Lane and taken into custody when the officer learned he was driving on a suspended license. He was released on $1,500 bond with a May 20 court date.

Nancy G. Rico, 28, of Waukegan, was stopped by an officer at Westleigh and Butler at 2 a.m. April 27 for speeding and was taken into custody when the officer learned she was driving on a suspended license. She was released on $1,500 bond with a June 3 court date.

John J. Powell, 52, of North Chicago was stopped at midnight April 25 at Route 41 and Gage Lane for driving without lights and was taken into custody when the officer learned he was driving on a suspended license. He was released on $1,500 bond with a May 20 court date.

Roberto Zamarippa, 25, of Park City, was stopped for speeding at 9 p.m. April 22 at Ahwahnee and Onwentsia and was taken into custody when the officer learned he was driving on a suspended license. He was released on $1,500 bond and given a May 20 court date.

Driving while license revoked

Susan Irmscher, 59, of Lake Bluff was stopped for running a red light at noon on April 21 and was taken into custody when the officer learned she was driving with a revoked license. She was released on $1,500 bond and given a May 20 court date.
