LAKE FOREST, IL — The following information comes from Lake Forest and Lake Bluff police and Lake County court records as a record of those arrested by police. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indication of guilt, and criminal charges, which represent merely accusations by the state, are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Circuit Clerk of Courts. All persons named are innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
Sheena L. Angeloff, 34, of the 1500 block of North Jefferson Street, Milwaukee, was arrested around 3:30 a.m. on Jan. 10 in the 600 block of Sheridan Road and charged with driving under the influence of drugs and fleeing police after leading officers on a low-speed chase around town and into a grassy area. Angeloff took off running without any pants on but was taken into custody nearby. She told officers she had "smoked some crack earlier," when asked how much, she said she had a low tolerance and had taken about "15,000 hits." She declined to provide samples of her blood, urine or breath. Police learned the SUV Angeloff was driving had been stolen from Kenosha within about 24 hours of her arrest, which may result in an additional charge of possession of a stolen motor vehicle. Officers also issued her citations for disobeying stop signs, improper lane usage and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
Shakeen M. Cross, 24, of the 8700 block of Orcutt Avenue in Hampton, Virginia, was arrested around 5 a.m. on Jan. 21 and charged with burglary, attempted residential burglary, criminal damage, obstructing identification and theft after officers were called to a report of a home burglary in the 1400 block of Buena Road. A resident reported hearing the sound of glass breaking after being awoken by noises outside, later reporting seeing a man on the other side of the window, who explained that he was homeless and believed the house was empty. The homeless man was later spotted rummaging through a nearby dump truck, and the resident learned that the power to the house had been cut. Police later determined a shed had been pried open and someone had rummaged through the bed of a pickup truck on the property. Officers found Cross, who initially provided a false name, on the bike path near the home, arrested him and took him to the Lake County Jail. Police reported Cross twice disrupted bond hearings. The first time, he fought with deputies and got pepper-sprayed and later shocked with a Taser, while the second time he bit a sheriff's deputy.
