Driver Arrested for Pot Possession on Sheridan

And a person who wanted to take only 'a little bit' of sand and rocks from a construction site had to return the supplies.

A person reported that his belongings were taken from Sunrise Beach while he was swimming at 7 a.m. Aug. 3. Officers learned that a park district crew took the items while they were cleaning the beach. The items were returned to their owner.

An officer saw a person loading sand and rocks into buckets at a construction site in the 600 block of Sheridan Road at 2 p.m. Aug. 5. The person said he was only taking a little bit of sand and rocks for a small project at his aunt’s home and didn’t think anyone would miss the small amount. The officer called the construction site supervisor, but got voice mail. The subject returned the rocks and sand and was allowed to leave.

Pot possession

An officer conducted a traffic stop on Sheridan Road at East North Avenue at 3 p.m. Aug. 8 and arrested the driver for driving with a suspended license and unlawful possession of cannabis.
