Lake Bluff Seattle-Style Coffee Shop Opens
Prairie Espresso, owned by a Seattle native, opened last week in Scranton Alley.
Lake Bluff has a new Seattle-style coffee shop.
Prairie Espresso opened in Scranton Alley on the 4th of July.
Owner John Davis decided to open the store two years after moving to his wife’s hometown of Lake Bluff.

“I found myself missing my daily latte from our favorite cafe in Ballard [a Seattle suburb], which leads me to this new adventure,” the Seattle native wrote in the business’ listing on Patch.
The shop is selling espresso drinks as well as teas and provides wifi in the alley. The store, at 91 E. Scranton Avenue, is in the old Best Wishes space. Coffee beans come from Hansa Coffee in Libertyville.

It opened July 4th, according to an article in the Gazebo News. Hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends.
