Lake Forest Obituary: Brian Tambi, 80
The former pharmaceutical executive enjoyed wine, a good barbeque and classical music.

Brian Astor Tambi of Lake Forest, Illinois, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2023. He is survived by his daughters, Michelle Blodgett (Pete) and Jacqueline Madura (Dan), his four grandchildren, Lindsay Bocos, Eric Gerber, Daniel Madura Jr, and Ethan Madura, and five great grandchildren.
Brian was born in Sri Lanka, served in the Navy, and used a Naval scholarship to receive an education at Syracuse University where he earned his B.S. in Corporate Finance and MBA in International Finance and Economics. He raised his two daughters in Syracuse, New York until 1988 when he took a job at a pharmaceutical company in Deerfield, Illinois and moved his family to Lake Forest.
Through his illustrious career, Brian was the President and CEO of multiple pharmaceutical companies, including Fujisawa Pharmaceuticals and Ivax Corporation. He started his more than 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry at Bristol-Myers in upstate New York. His greatest achievement was his purchase of Morton Grove Pharmaceuticals in 1996, which he ran as President and CEO until 2006.
