Lake Forest Obituary: Charles Waltman, 75
Waltman developed his pranic healing skills while living in India and returned to Lake Forest to teach and introduce others to its powers.

Charles Terry Waltman, a long time Lake Forest resident, passed away February 8, 2024, after a brief illness. Terry was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on November 23, 1948 to Charles Theodore and Martha Kay Hicks Waltman.
Terry grew up in Lake Forest, Illinois and attended Lake Forest High School (Class of 1967). His love of skiing led him to Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where he developed his talent as an architect. The Inn at Thunderhead and Ski Time Square were two of his projects, along with building a home there for his parents. Sadly, a skiing accident ended his skiing days. Later, while living in Boca Raton, Florida, Terry developed an interest in PC computers and ended up working for IBM where he helped develop their Linkway computer program. Terry discovered another passion for pranic healing. He soon found himself living in India, where he developed his skills as a healer, working with leaders in the field. In 2007, Terry returned to Lake Forest where he began teaching healing and introducing others to its curative powers.
In 2018, Terry headed to Tahlequah, Oklahoma, his mother’s home town. Terry will be laid to rest in a family plot in the Tahlequah, Oklahoma cemetery. The family plot includes several generations of his Cherokee ancestors. His ancestry includes Cherokee leaders, such as Chief Charles Renatus Hicks, Elijah Hicks, a Trail of Tears leader, Nanyehi, the beloved woman of the Cherokee, Edward D. Hicks, an early telephone pioneer among others.
