LAKE FOREST, IL — A registered sex offender who lives in Lake Forest is accused of trying to get two local teenage girls to expose their breasts to him in exchange for cash.

Christopher Greve, 79, of the 1400 block of Willow Road, was indicted last week on one felony count of sexual exploitation of a child and one of misdemeanor disorderly conduct in connection with a July 13 incident at a Dunkin Donuts in downtown Lake Forest, records show.

According to police reports, officers were called by a parole officer who had been checking on Greve, a registered sex offender, after his ankle monitor indicated he was at the business at 620 N. Western Ave.

The parole officer told police that Dunkin Donuts staff notified him Greve made inappropriate sexual comments to a minor female employee.

And a search of Greve's wallet turned up a hand-written Post-It Note that was "sexual in nature" and included the names of Dunkin employees, according to the parole officer, who handcuffed Greve and detained him until Lake Forest police arrived.

The minor Dunkin Donuts employee, who was under 17 at the time, told police that Greve had asked her name and, when she provided it, asked if they could be friends. The girl walked away after telling him how old she was, but he continued to linger around the store after getting his order, according to the detective's report.

The girl asked Greve if she missed something, and he told he waiting for her and "if she showed him her tits he can make something happen" as he held cash in his hand, according to police.

After another employee reminded him the girl was underage, Greve responded that "I have to watch out for her," staff told the detective, according to his report.

Greve was taken to lockup, where he agreed to waive his constitutional rights against self-incrimination and spoke to police. He told officers that he had written down the name of a new employee so that he did not forget it, according to the report.

The detective reported he directly confronted Greve about whether or not he asked the girl to see her breasts.

"Maybe, I don't think it was that direct," Greve told him. "I just said you are very nice looking and maybe I said you are well built."

According to the report, Greve also spoke to the detective about children walking home from high school around 3:30 p.m. and said he tries not to be in his yard while kids are out.

Under the terms of his parole, Greve is forbidden form having contact with anyone under 18.

Following the interview, Greve was released on his own recognizance ahead of an initial court date.

Less than three weeks after he pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct in connection with the Dunkin Donuts incident, Greve again solicited a teenage girl to expose herself to him, according to police.

A parent notified police that Greve had been standing on the sidewalk outside his home when he struck up conversation with a 15-year-old girl who was walking by, asking her about being on the swim team and posing intimate questions, police reported.

Following another interview with investigators, Greve was again charged with a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct, according to police and court records. He has not yet been indicted in connection with the incident.

According to Lake County court records, prosecutors in June 2022 dropped an earlier charge of disorderly conduct against Greve in connection with a March 18 incident.

According to police reports, he approached a woman in her 20s and, after asking her age, asked her questions about where she lived before being interrupted by another shopper who recognized him as a registered offender. Greve is banned from the Jewel-Osco at 890 Western Ave. as a result of the incident, police reported.

Registered sex offenders are prohibited from living within 500 feet of schools unless they owned the property before 2000, according to state police. Greve's home directly abuts Lake Forest High School, but property records indicate he has owned it for more than two decades.

Greve surrendered himself to authorities on the exploitation charge, which is a class 4 felony when the offender is a registered sex offender.

Patch has requested comment from Greve's listed attorney, Robert Fisher, and any response received will be added here.

Records show Greve pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of child pornography in 2005 in exchange for a three-year prison sentence, which ran concurrently with 15 years he spent in prison in Wisconsin.

According to court records, digital photographs of child sexual abuse were found on Greve's computer after he was arrested in November 2004 in Glendale, Wisconsin, by police who found him in a car with a partially nude 13-year-old girl.

The following year, Greve was convicted in Milwaukee County of the second-degree sexual assault of three children and attempted second-degree sexual assault of a fourth, as well as three counts of sexual exploitation of a child. According to a notification from Wisconsin state prison officials, Greve was paroled in July 2020.
