Spice Store Opens in Lake Bluff

Lake Bluff residents have a new place to peruse spices, teas, rubs and other specialty toppings in town.

Spice Merchants, owned by husband and wife Carmen and Scott Gladen, recently opened at 12 E. Scranton Ave., across from the Village Green, according to an article in the Lake Forester.

The store stocks nearly 200 different spice blends, more than 100 kinds of tea, as well as other salts, peppers and accessories, the article says. The Gladens hope the Lake Bluff Farmers Market at the Village Green this summer will help introduce people to the store.

It’s the second Spice Merchant franchise in the state, with the other in Downers Grove, according to the company’s website.
