Steven John Harman, 81, Highland Park

Steven John Harman, 81, of Highland Park, Illinois passed away on February 11th, 2025.

Born at the Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago on October 13th, 1943, he grew up in the northern suburbs of Barrington, Lake Forest, and North Chicago. He graduated from North Chicago Community High School 1957-1961.

An accomplished athlete playing Baseball and Track during his high school years establishing a number of records in Track and Field events and had a wicked fast ball on the mound. He attended Bradley University. He worked for the City of Waukegan government before finding his rhythm in sales for the Great Lakes Bulletin and the Waukegan News Sun. He lived a nice life being recognized yearly as salesman of the year.

Brother to Randall (Rita) Harman Uncle to Aimee Bernardi Messner, Craig Bernardi, Davin (Kim) Bernardi, Meredith (Tom) Teisseyre and Kyle(Kani) Harman. Great Uncle to Grant, Parker, Landen, and Gage Messner, Willow and Adrian Teisseyre, Ryanne, Mallory, and Tanner Bernardi. He is preceded in death by his parents Lester John Harman and Jayne Olson Harman of Lake Forest, Illinois, his sister Pamela (Jerry) Bernardi of Waukegan, and his brother Darrel Lester Harman of New Smyrna Beach.

Visitation will be held 10am-12pm Saturday, March 22nd immediately followed by a memorial service at 12pm at Wenban Funeral Home, 320 Vine Avenue, Lake Forest, Illinois. Interment private.
