LAKE FOREST, IL — The following information comes from Lake Forest and Lake Bluff police and Lake County court records as a record of those arrested by police. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indication of guilt, and criminal charges, which represent merely accusations by the state, are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Circuit Clerk of Courts. All persons named are innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

INCIDENTS

STOLEN CARS
Police were called to the 1000 block of Lewis Avenue for reports from two residents that their cars had been stolen during the early morning hours of Aug. 1. Officers determined that a Mazda 3 and a Toyota Rav4 had been stolen after they were left unlocked with their keys inside.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Trina Triplett, 55, of the 2100 block of Prospect Avenue, North Chicago, was arrested and charged with a local ordinance disorderly conduct charge after she was accused of attempting to ram a person's vehicle and to "cut her throat and beat her ass" in the parking lot of a plumbing supply store in the first block of Albrecht Drive. She told officers that the father of her children had not returned home the prior night and she became irate after going to his place of work, where he saw him get into a car with someone else.

Michael Cullen, 57, of the 1000 block of New York Street, Waukegan, was arrested on July 20 and taken into custody on an active arrest warrant. Village officials redacted information about the nature of the warrant from Cullen's arrest report.

A 22-year-old North Chicago man was arrested around 12:15 a.m. on July 29 near the intersection of Deerpath and Waukegan roads and charged with driving with a suspended license due to a previous DUI conviction.

Wendell Coleman, 26, of the 6600 block of 18th Avenue, Kenosha, was arrested around 3:30 a.m. on July 29 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police were dispatched to the intersection of Route 41 and Route 60 for a report of a one-car crash. They found a heavily damaged Chevrolet sitting in the road facing south in the northbound lane. Coleman declined a ride to the hospital and showed signs of intoxication before being taken into custody. He was also issued citations for improper lane usage and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

William Schrimpf, 84, of the 900 block of Valley Road, Lake Forest, was arrested around 11:15 p.m. on Aug. 3 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following an investigation into a crash at Green Bay and Westminster roads. Officers determined that Schrimpf, who admitted drinking alcohol earlier that day at the Lake Forest Day event, tried to turn onto Westminster Road in front of an oncoming car prior to the crash. Officers placed him under arrest and also issued a citation for improper left turn into oncoming traffic.

Paul A. Salgan, 41, of the 300 block of Stablewood Lane, Lake Forest, was charged with four counts of child pornography in connection with a July 25 incident. Police said they worked with investigators from the Lake County State's Attorney's Office to collect enough evidence to get a judge to approve an arrest warrant for Salgan after authorities got a tip that someone had uploaded child sexual abuse materials to an internet server. No further information about the case was immediately available.

An 18-year-old Racine, Wisconsin man was arrested around 2 a.m. on Aug. 13 and charged with driving with a revoked license following a traffic stop at Route 60 and Academy Road. Officers also issued him a citation for driving an uninsured motor vehicle.

A 29-year-old North Chicago man was arrested around 5 p.m. on Aug. 13 and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop at Waukegan Road and Castlegate Court. He was also issued a citation for expired registration.
