
Warren Allen Allabastro (1940–2024)
Warren Allen Allabastro, 84, of Lake Forest, Illinois, entered into eternal bliss in Durham, North Carolina, on February 17, 2024.
The second of eight children, Warren was born in Chicago in 1940 to Adolph and Lorraine Allabastro. He earned his architecture degree from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana before launching an architectural and real estate development firm with Elmer Anderson. A Fellow and former President of the Society of American Registered Architects, Warren left a lasting mark through his entrepreneurship, design, and real estate development.

Warren was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, sharing 57 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life Alice Graham Allabastro. Together they raised six children, Claudette, Marjorie, Warren Jr., Christian, Matthew, and Alice Anne, who brought him immense pride and joy. He was also a cherished grandfather to Connor and Jack.
Faith played an essential role in Warren’s life, providing strength and purpose through both good times and challenges. His effortless charm, warmth, and generous nature made him the center of his family. A lover of music and art, he enjoyed fitness, world history, warm weather, beaches, and travel with family and friends, always embracing life’s beauty with humor, adventure, and appreciation.

He was preceded in death by his parents Adolph and Lorraine, his sister Beverly, his brothers Robert and Wayne, and his son Christian. He is survived by his beloved wife Alice, their five children and two grandchildren, and his sisters Margaret, Susan, Patricia and Paula.
Warren’s warmth, strength, charm, and wisdom will be deeply missed. His legacy of love, laughter, faith, resilience, and a life well-lived will forever echo in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A funeral Mass will be held at the Church of St. Mary, 175 E. Illinois Rd, Lake Forest, IL 60045, on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 11 a.m. For those unable to attend in person, Mass will be livestreamed at the following link:
