Watering Restrictions Remain in Effect in Lake Forest
We know your lawns are thirsty, but the City of Lake Forest is reminding residents of watering restrictions in place through Sept. 15.

The City of Lake Forest is reminding residents to adhere to sprinkling restrictions in light of this week's heatwave, and as a result of a large infiltration of algae that has affected the water plant's total production capacity, according to a village press release.
While the algae does not affect the quality of the water, the city's water plant is having a difficult time meeting irrigation demands of residents, stated Michael Thomas, director of public works.
"We therefore are requesting residents adhere to the annual water restrictions of odd/even watering days based on their address."
The watering/sprinkling restrictions are in effect through Sept. 15.
- Sprinkling is permitted on odd or even days, based on the odd or even last digit of your street address.
- Sprinkling between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. is not permitted.
- Sprinkling may occur on designated days from midnight until 10 a.m. and from 8 p.m. until midnight. For example, if your address is 809 Smith Street, you may water on June 19 from midnight until 10 a.m. and from 8 p.m. until midnight only.
- Make sure your irrigation systems are programmed to comply with these regulations.
