Waukegan Man Guilty Of 2018 Murder After Bar Fight
An argument at a bar in North Chicago turned deadly when Andre Jones pulled a gun and shot at the victim, who was leaving.

WAUKEGAN, IL — Just over a year after the fatal shooting of Melvin DeVost II, his killer was convicted of the murder. Andre Jones, 35, was convicted of first-degree murder, reports say.
It was early Monday, March 5, 2018, when DeVost, who was 29, and Jones got into an argument at Frank's Lounge, a bar in the 2200 block of Green Bay Road in North Chicago.
Around 12:50 a.m., when the argument was broken up, DeVost got into a passenger seat of a car. That's when Jones shot at the car. One of the bullets hit DeVost.

The Daily Herald reports Jones faces up to 60 years in prison in his May 22 sentencing.
“We were never in doubt as to the guilt of this defendant,” said DeVost’s father, Melvin DeVost, after the verdict, according to the Lake County News-Sun. “It’s a major loss to all of our family. But this is what justice looks like.”
