3 Plead Guilty for Videotaping Lake View Beating for Rap Video

The men jumped out of a limo in Wrigleyville and left four injured, including a police officer.

Three men have been sentenced to probation after filming a beating outside Wrigley Field in 2012 for a rap video, leaving four injured, including a police officer, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Donald Robinson Jr., 31, and Corry Simmons, 32 both plead guilty Monday to mob action and aggravated battery, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office told Fox 32 News. They were both sentenced to two years of probation.

Alvin L. Goffin was sentenced to one year of probation for mob action after pleading guilty.

Three men in their 20s were injured around 1 a.m. on July 9, 2012 with the attackers pulled up in a white stretch limo at the 3400 block of North Sheffield Avenue and began beating them, CBS Chicago writes. Witnesses said others inside the limo filmed them as they punched the victims, breaking one man’s jaw.

Simmons then hurt an officer while being arrested.

Edward Robinson, who films videos as “Chicago Maverick,” was also charged with mob action and aggravated battery, CBS reports. He reportedly chose to take the video in Wrigleyville for a “celebrity shot.”
