Behind the Scenes: Look Inside Abandoned Lathrop Homes (PHOTOS)
The abandoned apartments take on an erie feel with a majority of the units in the 32-acre site uninhabited.
Lathrop Homes are slated for a major renovation, but with the new feedback-based designs delayed, take a peek at what the public housing currently looks like.
Patch reader and Chicago photographer Dustin Walker got inside the abandoned 32-acre site, and he snapped a behind the scenes look into what the uninhabited apartments look like.
Roughly 165 families still live at Lathrop Homes, but have been relocated to the southern end of the site. Construction will begin in North Center on the north sometime at the end of 2014.
