1. “Major disruptions” are occurring this weekend on the Belmont Brown Line as CTA crews work to attach the line to the Belmont Bypass. Services will be disabled between Belmont and Southport through Monday morning, when the trains are expected to run again as normal. Free shuttle buses are available in the meantime. (Block Club)

2. Three people were injured in a “fiery” eight-car crash on the Northwest Side early Saturday morning. The crash was catalyzed by an armed carjacking in Belmont Cragin's 5100 block of W. Montana. (ABC7)

3. A man with a history of violent attacks has been charged with a misdemeanor after stabbing a 66-year-old man outside Union Station in September. Leonard Hall has been previously charged with attacking a CTA bus driver and assaulting a man outside Lincoln Park Zoo. (CWB)

4. Chicago police “beefed up” patrols in Logan Square this week after three shootings were reported in a single day. The department said two of the shootings are believed to be linked to a gang war. (Block Club)

5. A "strong autumn storm" is expected to hit the Chicago area today and into tomorrow, according to the National Weather Service. Torrential rains and lake-shore flooding are expected through Monday. (NBC5)
