1. Chicago’s Blarney Stone will close permanently Oct. 2 after 50 years in business. The Wrigleyville bar at 3424 N. Sheffield Ave. will close its doors the same day the Cubs end their season. (Block Club Chicago)
2. For the second time in a week, a driver was carjacked near Clark and Diversey. A man was unloading his Range Rover on the 2700 block of North Clark around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday when a group of armed robbers stole the SUV at gunpoint. The car was later found abandoned on the 9900 block of South Aberdeen in Washington Heights. (CWB)
3. Lake View High School was one of nine school councils in Chicago who voted to remove school resource officers from campus last year. Now the Chicago Board of Education is reviewing a one-year, $11 million proposed agreement with the Chicago Police Department to continue the controversial program. (Paid source: Chicago Tribune)
