1. At least 19 armed robberies have been reported in Wicker Park since mid-October, according to the Chicago Police Department. Residents say they want a stronger police presence in the neighborhood, including an anonymous robbery victim who told Block Club Chicago, “Those 19 events aren’t just a sentence, those are people’s lives.” (Block Club)

2. The debate over sports betting in Chicago continued this week, due to a measure that could allow Wrigley Field and other stadiums to host their own sports betting facilities. The Cubs already plan to build a two-story DraftKings sportsbook adjacent to the ballpark, “but it cannot operate without action by the City Council,” according to a Tribune report. 3. Lakeview Pantry launched its annual Turkey Fund to bring Thanksgiving food to people in need. Donations will be matched up to $25,000, CEO Kellie O’Connell told WGN this week, adding that the need for food security is more urgent now than ever. (WGN)

4. About 85 percent of city workers have reported their vaccination status, three weeks after Chicago’s requirement went into effect. Of those, about 83 percent are fully vaccinated. All city employees are required to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 31. (CBS2)

5.Neither the Cubs nor White Sox will host its annual fan conventions in January, the teams announced this week. The combination of COVID-19 and large crowds led to the cancellations for the second year in a row. (We Chicago baseball fans are familiar with the disappointment.) (Patch)
