Road Construction, New Street Lights in Lake View
Ald. Tom Tunney is updating Lake View residents on when the big construction projects will be finished in Chicago's 44th Ward.

Clark/Halsted/Barry/Fletcher Sewer Main Project
Halsted is open to vehicular traffic in both directions. The sewer main work is complete on both Halsted and Clark. Crews have backfilled Clark and expect the cement to be fully cured by Monday.
After the cement has cured, Water Management will open both northbound and southbound lanes to vehicular traffic. Both Halstedand Clark will be resurfaced shortly after, but there will be no street closures in place while this is done.
Barry will remain under construction for approximately 2 more weeks.

Halsted (Barry to Aldine) Resurfacing
Street resurfacing on Halsted (Barry to Aldine) is scheduled to commence on Monday, Nov. 19. The existing pavement will be removed on Monday, and the street will be prepped for new pavement on Tuesday. The new pavement will be installed on Wednesday, Nov. 21 (weather permiting).
New Residential Street Lighting
The Division of Electrical Operations will soon begin installing new residential street lights on George (Halsted to Sheffield) and Oakdale (Halsted to Sheffield). These new residential street lights will feature piggy-back lights (sidewalk lights) and street lights with energy efficient light bulbs. These lights will be installed on both sides of the street.

Please note: wires for the new lights are buried underground. The wiring process will require crews to excavate portions of the sidewalk and parkway. The city will restore these excavated sidewalks and parkways after the project is complete.
