Cubs Request Permit for Sign at Wrigley

The sign could potentially block the view for rooftop clubs near the Wrigley Field.

The Chicago Cubs have filed a permit application for a sign that would potentially block the view for some rooftop clubs near Wrigley Field, according to an article by the Chicago Tribune. The team has field a permit application for a sign that would be placed in right field, as part of the $500 million plan to renovate the stadium. The move could potentially lead to a lawsuit against the cubs by the rooftops.

“We are still interested in a solution that doesn’t involve the courts,” Cubs spokesperson Julian Green told the Tribune. A meeting between the Cubs and rooftop club representatives is scheduled for later this week.

"Rooftop owner believe any blockage of our views violates the contract we have with the owners of the Cubs," Ryan McLaughlin, spokesperson for the Wrigleyville Rooftops Association, told the Tribune. "We have instructed our legal team to proceed accordingly."
