Here are the top stories in Lake View today:

1. A man was stabbed Saturday morning in Lakeview near the 19th district police station. The 29-year-old entered the police department in the the 800 block of West Addison Street just after 3 a.m. yesterday with a stab wound. He is in critical condition at the Illinois Masonic Medical Center. (FOX 32 Chicago)

2. Another North Side stabbing occurred around the same time in Lincoln Park. A 19-year-old DePaul University student was stabbed by two armed robbers near campus, on the 900 block of West Webster. No one is in custody for the crime, but the 19-year-old victim is in good condition, police said Saturday. (CWB)

3. Chicago beaches were closed Saturday due to dangerous boating conditions and high waves. City officials urged residents to avoid the lakefront due to high swim risk. (NBC5)

4. The Chicago Police Department announced plans to close several streets "to keep traffic under control downtown." Rolling closures will be enforced on DuSable Lake Shore Drive, Roosevelt Road, Michigan Avenue, Ida B. Wells Drive and Columbus Drive. (WGN9)

5. The owner of a shuttered Lakeview pastry shop is helping another bakery find new life in Logan Square. Vanille owner Sophie Evanoff closed her locations in Lakeview and Hyde Park in 2019, but donated kitchen equipment to Dorothy’s Sweet Shoppe, which will open Sept. 30. “Nothing is closer to my heart than helping others, and this was just another way to brighten someone else’s day,” Evanoff said.
