Feigenholtz: Spring Cleaning, Recycling Coming to District

The North Side representative lists area cleaning events for residents to give back this spring.

With spring cleaning in mind, state Rep. Sara Feigenholtz (D-Chicago) encourages residents to join several local community recycling events and opportunities to give back throughout the 12th District.

The City of Chicago hosts two Clean & Green city-wide community beautification days. Volunteers are needed on Saturday, April 20th to help with landscaping, recycling, and litter pickup in various locations. The city will provide tools, materials, and equipment for volunteers. To find the volunteer location nearest to you, call 311.

The Triangle Neighbors Association, a sub-group of Lake View Citizen Council that represents the area bound by Clark, Halsted, Belmont and Addison, is hosting a spring clean-up at Space Park, located at 815 W. Roscoe on Friday, April 19th. For more details contact Triangle Neighbors at triangle@lakeviewcitizens.org.

Feigenholtz’s constituent office continues to collect used cell phones for Cell Phones for Soldiers, a not-for-profit organization that provides pre-paid calling cards at no cost to military personnel serving overseas. Cell phones may be dropped off during business hours at 1051 W. Belmont Ave. Phone accessories and chargers are not needed.

“Spring is a great time to give back to the community,” said Feigenholtz. "Clean up a park, donate your old clothing, or give back some of your time. It feels good to be involved and make a visible difference!”
