The areas next to the Belmont CTA station, North Halsted in Boystown and Clark Street near Wrigley Field had the most crime incidents in Lake View during the month of October.

Patch examined crime in October using the City of Chicago Data Portal, and created a heat map showing the areas with the most incidents reported.

Out of more than 400 police reports in the Lake View, police made 104 arrests. The most common crime was theft accounting for 176 reports. There were also 58 burglaries, 14 robberies and 5 cases of prostitution.

Lake View is covered by the 19th District of the Chicago Police Department.
