Intelligentsia Grand Opening Celebrates New Space on Broadway

Coffee and cafe lovers packed Intelligentsia’s Broadway Coffeebar in East Lake View Wednesday night to honor the cafe's new face lift.
The storefront at 3123 N. Broadway St. closed in late March when owners announced they'd be upgrading their flagship store after opening it 18 years ago.
Now sporting roughly double the seating of the former space, the once crowded cafe is sporting features like new furniture throughout, a new quartz coffee bar and a second bar in the back of the storefront with special brew methods and limited edition items.

More noticeably, the business ditched the large “Intelligentsia” sign hanging over the front door in favor of a smaller glowing red box with a coffee cup logo. The original sign now sits behind the new bar in the building's rear.
