Jake Arrieta Pitches ANOTHER No-Hitter
YES! He did it again. And the Chicago Cubs shut out the Cincinnati Reds Thursday night, scoring 16 runs on 18 hits, with 5 homers.
Catcher David Ross embraced Arrieta in a huge hug as the final out was caught.
The 30-year-old pitcher is the first Cubs starter to win his first four starts since the great Greg Maddux did so in 2006. Arrieta's first no-hitter came in August of 2015 against the L.A. Dodgers in California. This is the 15th no-hitter in Cubs history. He's won his last 17 starts in a row.
The Cubs' scoring also included a grand-slam home run by Kris Bryant.
I'll remember this no-hitter for the Cubs fan who got into Arrieta's celebration and got pulled away by a cop: pic.twitter.com/e7GVzOiKbb
