Jake Arrieta Pitches ANOTHER No-Hitter

YES! He did it again. And the Chicago Cubs shut out the Cincinnati Reds Thursday night, scoring 16 runs on 18 hits, with 5 homers.

Jake Arrieta pitched his second career no-hitter Thursday night as the Chicago Cubs beat the Cincinnati Reds 16-0 at the Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati. The Cubs pitcher struck out six batters, notched his fourth win of the season and lowered his earned run average to 0.87.

Catcher David Ross embraced Arrieta in a huge hug as the final out was caught.

The 30-year-old pitcher is the first Cubs starter to win his first four starts since the great Greg Maddux did so in 2006. Arrieta's first no-hitter came in August of 2015 against the L.A. Dodgers in California. This is the 15th no-hitter in Cubs history. He's won his last 17 starts in a row.

The Cubs' scoring also included a grand-slam home run by Kris Bryant.
