Kickstand to Rebrand as Chicago's Third Dollop Café
There's already a Dollop in Streeterville and Buena Park, but the new location will land in the heart of Lake View.
Lake View’s Kickstand Espresso Bar is switching gears Thursday to become Chicago’s third Dollop Coffee & Tea, the cafes’ owner Dan Weiss says.
While there are already Dollop locations in Streeterville at 345 W. Ohio and Uptown’s Buena Park neighborhood at 4181 N. Claredon, Weiss says it’s time to build on the café’s success and transform Kickstand, too.
The Lake View espresso bar’s extremely high trafficked storefront at 824 W. Belmont Ave. is between Clark Street and Halsted Avenue.

"My staff and I have worked hard to make the Dollop Cafes solid, neighborhood-focused places that are consistent and delicious," said Weiss in a statement. "I know that our customers feel at home at all our locations, but I want that instant recognition and connection to Dollop for our customers in Lakeview.”
Weiss says Dollop in Lake View will continue to partner with various artisanal Chicago vendors, including pies from Hoosier Mamma Pie Company, cupcakes and croissants from Southport Grocery, vegan donuts, and ham & swiss croissants from Fritz Pastry.

The café will also continue to feature the Chicago-based Metropolis coffee.
Dollop Lakeview hours of operation will be seven days a week from 9:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.
