1. The family of a hit-and-run victim in Jefferson Park is pleading for the driver’s confession. Teresa Jaworecka was struck by a Jeep Wranger last month in the 4900 block of North Milwaukee, just months before she was set to retire from her job as a janitor. (NBC5)

2. The 43rd Annual Chicago Marathon begins today at 7:30 a.m. in Grant Park. The event was cancelled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic. Organizers are offering tips for drivers to avoid road closures today as the race is underway. (WGN)

3. More than 300 Chicagoans, including Lakeview residents, have asked the city for “permission to build basement, attic and coach house dwellings” now that accessory units are allowed. City officials say the move is an attempt to manage Chicago’s affordable housing crisis. (WTTW)

4. Chicago musician John Prine was honored this weekend with a street-naming ceremony in Lincoln Park. The Honorary John Prine Way street sign was revealed Saturday at Armitage and Dayton. "A favorite son" of the Old Town School of Folk Music, Prine died last year after contracting COVID-19. (CBS2)

5. Lincoln Park Zoo will unveil a state-of-the-art lion habitat at the Pepper Family Wildlife Center next week. The $41 million project took two years and will supplement the original Lion House, which was built in 1912. (WGN)
