1. A 26-year-old man was shot while driving early Sunday morning in the 3000 block of North Sheridan Road. He suffered a graze wound and declined further medical treatment. “Lakeview has recorded eight shooting victims so far this year, compared to six in all of last year and five in all of 2019,” CWB reports. 2. A woman was mugged over the weekend in the 1400 block of West Melrose Street. The 24 year old was shoved to the ground by an offender who stole her Kate Spade purse. (CWB)
3. People who test positive for COVID-19 should quarantine for 10 days, but the city’s top doctor has advice for people who experience symptoms longer than that period. Chicago Department of Public Health Commissioner Dr. Allison Arwady said people who still feel very sick after 10 days should seek additional medical treatment. (NBC Chicago)
4. More than 1,000 Southwest Airlines flights were cancelled earlier this week, with at least 600 delays nationwide. A combination of weather and air traffic control issues led to the widespread cancellations. (ABC7)
5. “A Lakeview craft beer institution” has reopened after closing in 2020. Guthries Tavern opened its doors again Friday at 1300 W. Addison St. after being shuttered for more than a year. Its new owners, Matt and Mark Baldino, want to keep the “same old Guthries” and maintain its identity as a “beloved corner bar.” (Block Club)
