More Road Construction on Halsted Starting Friday
With Clark Street still under construction, residents need to prepare for even more construction starting on Halsted.

Look out Boystown, because six Chicago blocks are being completely resurfaced along the popular LGBT nightlife and entertainment corridor in Lake View.
North Halsted Street is soon undergoing construction from Aldine Avenue to Addison Street starting Friday, just one day after crowds line the street for the unveiling of the Legacy Walk on National Coming Out Day. This construction will look almost identical to what’s currently being done to Clark Street in Lake View.
Along with resurfacing the street, concrete crews will replace broken curbs and gutters and replace non-ADA compliant sidewalk ramps. Representatives at Ald. Tom Tunney’s (44th) office say they’re coordinating with the Chicago Department of Transportation to everything possible is being done to minimize inconvenience and noise.

“As you know, construction always involves some inconvenience, noise and dust,” wrote Tunney in a statement. “…I have made clear that crews are to put great importance on your convenience and the quality of life in this neighborhood through the whole term of this project.”
