UPDATE: New Boystown Bar 'Replay' Coming from Owners of Hydrate, Halsted's
The owner of Halsted's, Hydrate and Elixir are slated to open a new retro bar and arcade at the former Buck's Saloon space.
Boystown’s Bucks Saloon will soon shut its doors, only to reopen next month as Replay, a retro arcade and bar from the owners of Halsted’s, Hydrate and Elixir.
Mark Liberson, who owns the three popular Boystown staples, is transforming the space at 3429 N. Halsted St. into an arcade similar to other Lake View staple, Headquarters Beercade.
Once completed, Replay will feature more than 25 craft beers on tap, a cocktail menu designed by Elixir’s Danny Quinn and more than 20 retro arcade games.

“My good friend who owns Headquarters is also one of my business partners," Liberson told Redeye. "It's really appropriate because Bucks has always been associated with the sporting community and with games."
Liberson later corrected himself, saying Replay will not be affiliated with Headquarters.

Renovations will begin shortly, and Liberson says he expects Replay will open in late May. Bucks will officially close this weekend after a round of goodbye parties.
"Buck's has a very strong legacy," Liberson told ChicagoPride.com. "I'm really excited that we are now going to be taking over the bar that I originally fell in love with so long ago."
Although apparently not affiliated, the original Headquarters location at 950 W. Wolfram St. is also getting a major upgrade. Owners recently announced they plan to close neighboring Uncle Fatty’s Rum Resort and expand the arcade bar.
Once completed, also in late May, Headquarters will feature a new 7,000-square-foot addition filled with 20-25 new pinball games by Melrose Park-based Stern Pinball, Inc.
