1. A pair of armed robbers are targeting people in Lakeview and Uptown, Chicago police warned this week. On Monday alone, five armed robberies were reported in the area, from the 1000 block of West Diversey Parkway to the 3200 block of North Broadway. (FOX32)

2. Cubs co-owner Todd Ricketts will step down as finance chair of the Republican National Committee after four years in the role. He led GOP fundraising efforts for Donald Trump's campaign. (Paid source: Sun-Times)

3. A 24-year-old man was shot and seriously injured Saturday at the Berwyn Red Line Station in Edgewater. He is the fifth person shot in the neighborhood this year. (CWB)

4. “Questions remain” in the death of 23-year-old Inaki Bascaran, who will be laid to rest tomorrow in his native Glenview. A cause of death has not been released by the Cook County medical examiner’s office. (NBC5)

5. Lincoln Park hot dog stand Wiener’s Circle recently gave patrons a preview of its upcoming bar renovation in honor of Halloween. An official grand opening date has not been announced. (Eater)
