Popular Lake View Bar Witt’s Closes on Lincoln
The tavern whose owners spoke up during the No. 11 bus cancellation closed its doors for good.
The popular Lake View bar Witt’s Tavern has officially closed its doors.
The American bar and restaurant at 2913 N. Lincoln Ave. shuttered its windows with brown paper, making the announcement on their website.
As of February 18th, 2013, We Are Closed.

The bar’s owner and manager were vocal about the cancellation of the No. 11 bus, which caused a heated debate back in September. Former manager Cody Shelley, 27, said he recalled seeing more storefronts two years ago, but now, Witt’s is one of them.
"There's been a lot more life in this neighborhood," he said in September. "I still can't believe that an outlet that can bring more commerce to our area won't be in use. Cutting a bus route for a diagonal street? I really don't understand the logistics behind that."
