Rep. Feigenholtz Phone Banks for Marriage Equality (PHOTO)
The local representative and LGBT ally hit the phones Wednesday in support of marriage equality.
State Rep. Sara Feigenholtz (D-Chicago) joined the Equality Illinois' phone bank for marriage equality on Wednesday.
Equality Illinois volunteers meet weekly to call Illinois residents to speak about the importance of marriage equality. Supporters are working to secure the 60 votes in the Illinois House needed to pass legislation.
"I believe marriage equality in Illinois is a matter of if, not when," said Feigenholtz as she thanked the many volunteers making calls. "With everyone chipping in to phone bank, talking to our neighbors and our friends across the state, I am certain that these grassroots efforts will help us cross the finish line. Equality will soon be a reality in Illinois."
