Save the Date: Summer Movies in the Park Announced
The family-friendly event is back with three movies residents can enjoy under the stars.

The annual summer event Movies in the Park is back with organizers already getting everything ready to watch family-friendly films under the stars.
Officials with the community group Hawthorne Neighbors say they’ve picked three dates and three movies for the upcoming event at the park behind Hawthorne Scholastic Academy.
Located near the corner of School Street and Seminary Avenue, the outdoor flicks are being screen in the heart of Lake View. Mark your calendars for these dates:

The movies air at dusk, so when the sun goes down, the movie starts rolling. In addition, if it happens to rain, the movie will simply be aired one week later.
And putting on the event is no simple—or cheap— task. During the latest Hawthorne Neighbors meeting, organizers said they were ready to shell out roughly $1,400 to play just one of the movies in the park.
