1. The Chicago Police Department issued a weekend alert about carjackings in the Lakeview and Near North Side neighborhoods. At least five carjackings occurred Friday, including one in the 1000 block of West Roscoe Street. (CBS2)
2. An unidentified shooter opened fire on two 27-year-old men in a Wrigleyville parking garage Saturday. Neither man was harmed in the incident at a multi-level garage in the 3500 block of North Clark. Surveillance footage captured the shooter and a passenger in a silver Dodge Charger, but no arrests have been made in the case. (CWB)
3. Chicago’s City Council voted not to repeal Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s vaccine mandate for city workers. “Lightfoot said the energy spent on repealing the vaccine mandate would be better spent educating first responders about vaccines,” according to Block Club Chicago. (Block Club)
4. About 3,800 Chicago Public Schools students remain without bus service, including more than 2,000 special needs students. The district said it is "making progress" on hiring drivers despite a nationwide shortage, but full service is not expected to be restored until after winter break. (WBEZ)
5. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held tomorrow for the Steppenwolf Theatre Company's new Liz and Eric Lefkofsky Arts and Education Center. The $54 million project includes a new Round Theater, wine bar and sidewalk lounge. (Paid source: Sun-Times)
