1. A 16-year-old boy is in critical condition after being shot Saturday in Lakeview. He was struck in the 2900 block of North Halsted Street and went to the Illinois Masonic Medical Center for treatment. (NBC5)

2. President Joe Biden will visit Chicago Thursday after cancelling his trip to the city last week due to legislative delays in Washington. The president is expected to discuss the importance of COVID-19 vaccines, but his official itinerary remains unclear. (Patch)

3. A 38-year-old man was the victim of an armed carjacking the 3400 block of North Janssen Avenue Sunday night. A similar incident occurred around the same time in Roscoe Village in the 2100 block of West Melrose Street. Neither victim was injured. (CBS2)

4. Chicago leaders are expected to issue guidance this week for celebrating Halloween amid the pandemic for the second year in a row. The CDC said again this week that "attending gatherings to celebrate events and holidays increases your risk of getting and spreading COVID-19." (NBC Chicago)

5. More than 4,000 people ran through Lakeview this weekend for the 16th Annual Race to Wrigley 5K. The event, which was not run last year due to the pandemic, raised more than $250,000 for Cubs Charities. (ABC7)
