This Week's Pet: Smiling Shepherd-Pit With 'Ever-Wagging' Tail

This smiling, goofy Pitbull-Shepherd mix wound up at PAWS Chicago after an owner gave him up. Volunteers can't imagine how anyone would be able to let him go. Will you meet him?

Obbie is a handsome, 1-year-old Shepherd-Pit mix in search of his forever home.

This sweet guy is great with people and definitely knows how to work a room.

Obbie came to PAWS Chicago Adoption Center in Lincoln Park from Animal Control after a previous guardian dropped him off, volunteers say. In no time, he has become a volunteer favorite.

With his big, goofy smile and ever-wagging tail, it’s impossible not to adore Obbie.

This intelligent guy loves treats and takes them gently from your hands. He already knows commands like “sit” and “down”, and picks up new concepts with lightning speed.

While he isn’t that into fetch, Obbie is very athletic and would be fantastic in an agility class.

At just 1-year-old, he still has some lingering puppy behavior, so he is looking for a home with dog-savvy adopters and kids who are at least 10 years old.

He absolutely loves people, but it seems that he hasn’t been around other dogs much; so adopters who can help him work on his socialization would be awesome for Obbie.

Currently, he is spending a couple days a week at K9 University daycare for some extra playtime.

Obbie is a loyal dog who can’t wait to become the companion of a very lucky adopter.

Won’t you make his day by stopping in for a visit?
