1. More details are emerging in the Monday shooting outside Lakeview High School that killed a 16-year-old boy. Ald. Tom Tunney said police assure him the incident was unrelated to the school community and occurred near the building "by happenstance." The identity of the victim remains unknown. (CWB)
2. Film and TV production is at an all-time high in the Chicago area, but that could be impacted a worker strike. More than 98 percent of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees voted this week to strike for better pay and guaranteed meal breaks. (FOX32)

3. More than 90 female veterans were honored Wednesday as part of a historic flight out of Midway International Airport. Ninety-three veterans of all branches took a round-trip honor flight from Midway to visit National Memorials in Washington, D.C. as part of "Operation HerStory." (NBC5)
4. Chicago will experience warm and sunny weather Sunday for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon, which was postponed last year due to the pandemic. NBC is offering tips for spectators for this year's race, which kicks off at 7 a.m. Oct. 10. (NBC5)
5. Radio co-host Melissa McGurren is speaking out about leaving WTMX-FM 101.9 in December due to host Eric Ferguson creating an "unbearable hostile work environment" for her and other women.
