1. A woman was carjacked while loading her SUV at a Lakeview Walgreens Tuesday night. The incident at 740 West Diversey marks the neighborhood's 19th carjacking so far this year. (CWB)

2. A Chicago man has been charged in the Wicker Park mass shooting which killed one person and injured four others Sunday in the 1500 block of North Milwaukee Avenue. Teanius Sykes was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder. (NBC Chicago)

3. The Chicago City Council is expected vote today on implementing a potential electric scooter program in the city. The program was already approved by the Committee on Transportation and the Public Way, despite citizen concerns. (ABC7)

4. A Lincoln Park-based costume shop is "pushing back" against Halloween chains this season. Chicago Costume Company employee Andy Rowell tweeted a photo of a Halloween Spirit billboard that went up a block away from the year-round, family-owned costume store. "Here, you're going to get 50 years of expertise," said owner Mary Hickey Panayotou of shopping local.(FOX32)

5. The reopening of Guthries Tavern continues to make headlines across Chicago, as a sign that "business is making a comeback" even as the trials posed by the pandemic continue. About 81 percent of business licenses have been renewed in the city since March 2020, according to the city’s business office. (CBS2)
