Here are the top stories in Lake View today:

1. A 20-year-old man was shot inside a vehicle near Lincoln Park Zoo early Friday morning, Chicago police report. He was the passenger in a car driving in the 2400 block of North Lake Shore Drive when he was shot in the arm by the driver of a dark-colored sedan. He was treated at the Illinois Masonic Medical Center and is in good condition. (ABC7)

2. Health officials say 285 people died of COVID-19 this week in Illinois, making for a total of 24,546 coronvairus-related deaths in the state since the pandemic began. About 25,950 positive COVID-19 cases were reported in Illinois this week. (NBC5)

3. A local woman is suing the Chicago Park District after her son drowned in Lake Michigan last month. Maria Diaz filed a wrongful death lawsuit, arguing that her 19-year-old son Miguel Cisneros could have been saved if flotation devices were available near Toby Prinz Beach Park, where he drowned Aug. 22. 4. A new grocery delivery startup is expanding to Lakeview. The service "1520" promises to deliver groceries within 15-20 minutes, with no delivery fees or minimum order sizes. The startup will also deliver to the West Loop, Gold Coast, Old Town, River North and Lincoln Park. (GroceryDive)

5. Lakeview native and "Ted Lasso" co-creator Brendan Hunt is nominated in two categories at this weekend's Emmys, which air tomorrow night at 7 p.m. on CBS. Hunt plays Coach Beard on the the Apple TV+ original, which is co-created by Chicago comedy veterans Jason Sudeikis and Joe Kelly. I can't help but root for them. (Yahoo)
